Hair-How-To; Ombre Purple Hair

Do I have an amazing hair DIY for you! Adding color to your hair has become so popular!

Many celebrities like Katy Perry, Lauren Conrad, Jordin Sparks, and Selena Gomez have added a pop of color to their lovely locks.

Even I have attempted to add some purple color to my hair!

The only issue with adding color is the lengthy process. Especially if you have dark hair like myself, you first have to bleach your hair, and then add the color you want. Then, after all that time and damage you do to your hair, the color fades so quickly and you end up with dull color, or grey hair.

Recently they have come out with hair chalk! It's just like sidewalk chalk but for your hair! It's so simple to apply and is semi-permanant so you don't have to worry about damaging your hair or the weird colors that the permanent colors fade to.

You can even add it to extensions if you're unsure if you'll like the color in your hair, or just to have it for a fun night out.

To apply the color, you may want a friend to help, especially with the back since its so hard to see on your own. I prefer getting a piece of cardboard, putting my hair over it, and coloring over that to avoid a mess.

You can add them to the tips or your hair or go all the way to the roots!

And wah-la! You have beautiful ombre purple streaks in your hair! There is also hair chalk available in a variety of different colors and shades so you can add any color that you like to your hair.

DIY: Festival Shorts

It's that time of year again! Music Festivals galore starting with the famous Coachella! I hope you are all pumped just as much as I am.  I've decided to do a fun little DIY on festival shorts that are flirty, fun and cute.

What you will need are some basic shorts and scarf that you no longer care for.
In addition, fabric glue, scissors and brads

You will place the scarf on top of either side of the shorts and pin in it .

Keep the pins in place as you cut along to the shape of the shorts.

Now, get the fabric glue and trace the outline of the area.

Place the fabric on top and firmly pat it down. You can also add a fun trim. (My old scarf had a crochet trim that I decided to use on the seam of the pocket.)

To add the brads you will need to snip a couple of holes wherever you like.

Simply push through the brad into the denim.

Notice that the edges go through the fabric, so I added the excess fabric from my old scarf so as to not scrape or cut my leg.

You are now all set to go !  I hope you had fun transforming plain old jean shorts into something fun and trendy.

See you all at Coachella!

HOW TO: Make A Floral Crown (No Glue Needed!)

Whether you're attending a music festival or doing an egg hunt, nothing spices up an outfit more than a floral headband.  Although we've seen them so often in the past years, they always seem to come back.  I'm a bit of a risk taker, and love accentuating my outfits with a bold statement piece.  Thus, my spring time wouldn't be complete without a floral headband!  You've seen them everywhere including stores and online, but if you don't know me already, I'm a sucker for DIYs.  Forget the glue gun and headband, I'll be showing you the easiest way to make a floral crown.

DIY Saint Patrick's Day Shirt

With St. Patrick's Day right around the corner a ton of retailers are bringing out their festive apparel. Instead of buying the same shirt that everyone else would be wearing, I found a fun way to make a one of a kind shirt. It's super simple, and I also found a fun way to make it even more unique!

DIY: Heart Shaped Elbow Pads

Hi all! This weekend I did some spring cleaning and little did I remember owning a plain J. Crew sweater.  I got it two summers ago and only put it to good use twice.  I decided to put my little crafting to the test and throw some heart shaped elbow pads. It's so easy to do and makes any dull sweater looking like new!

Messy French Manni

Personally, when it comes to my hair and nails, I prefer the messy, "I didn't try hard, and yet it still looks good" look.  When painting my nails, I have little patience to make sure that every finger looks perfect.  It's always frustrating when I take an hour to draw on my nails, only to be devastated when it accidentally smears against something.  Here's an easy way to spice up plain nails without breaking a sweat!

Transform your denim shorts!

Last summer I got a pair of acid wash denim shorts that have a lace cut out on the sides. I'm absolutely in love with them and want to wear them with every outfit. I always thought of adding the lace cut outs to some other pairs of my denim shorts but never knew how. Little did I know, adding the lace on your own can be done in just a few simple steps. I'm so excited to share this with you guys and encourage you to try it as well!

V-DAY DIY MANI

Valentine's Day is literally around the corner and I was just thinking to myself "What on earth am I doing for Valentine's Day?" My boyfriend and I haven't put much thought about it because we are both so busy.  If we do end up going out to dinner, I don't even have an outfit! Yikes! Anyway, as I was digging through my closet to find a lovely number to wear tomorrow night, I came across some nail polish sitting on my desk luring for me to pick them up.  I dusted those bad boys out and decided to be a little festive and get creative.  I loved how my nails came out so I decided to share!

HOW TO: Make A Bracelet In Less Than 1 Minute

Arm candy has been an ongoing trend this season.  You can't possibly go wrong with stacking different bracelets on top of each other.  The problem I have when buying bracelets for my arm candy is deciding on the right color.  However, when I do manage to find a nice bracelet, it turns out to be WAY overpriced.  I decided to share with you guys how I make my braided bracelets, and yes, like the title says, this D.I.Y. is so simple that you can do it in less than a minute!
