HOW TO: Make A Floral Crown (No Glue Needed!)

Whether you're attending a music festival or doing an egg hunt, nothing spices up an outfit more than a floral headband.  Although we've seen them so often in the past years, they always seem to come back.  I'm a bit of a risk taker, and love accentuating my outfits with a bold statement piece.  Thus, my spring time wouldn't be complete without a floral headband!  You've seen them everywhere including stores and online, but if you don't know me already, I'm a sucker for DIYs.  Forget the glue gun and headband, I'll be showing you the easiest way to make a floral crown.

MATERIALS:
- 1 or 2 bouquet of fake flowers(ones from dollar tree are the best!)
-small safety pins
-bobby pins

STEP 1.
-Detach the flower buds from the stem (this is why I like buying the $1 bouquet because it makes this process easy)
*NOTE:if your flower bud is attached to the stem, you can just cut the bud off*

STEP 2.
-Cut off the tip of the excess stem at the bottom of the flower bud

STEP 3.
-Pick one of the outer petals of each flower and hold them together with your thumb and index finger

STEP 4.
-With your fingers still holding the two petals, attach a safety pin at the bottom of the two petals to hold them in place (Don't worry you won't see the safety pin when wearing the crown)

STEP 5.
-Continue Step 4 to add more flower buds.  I find laying the flowers on a flat surface while safety pinning will keep them in a uniform line

STEP 6.
-Depending on how big you want your crown to be, you can stop at 6 buds for a short crown, or 8 buds for a long one (I used 7 flower buds for mines)

STEP 7.
-Place the crown on your head and use bobby pins to secure them in place
By using safety pins to connect the flower buds, you can easily take them out and mix and match them with other colors to create different patterns.  I hope you find this tutorial useful for this upcoming Spring!

Until next time...
